The Luminous Matter is an interactive installation acting as a mirror in which the passerby is reflected in a constantly changing abstract shape. The movement is captured by a motion-sensor webcam and projects a trail of light through a monitor.
The impossibility to crystallize into an image which resembles us, it is precisely what the installation invites us to see: the only characteristic that unites all beings is change.
We belong to multiple systems in constant transformation that influence and change each other just as we do. Design is the active practice that aims to reveal all dialogues still unexpressed, for transforming them into new modes of relationship that propagandize renovation.
The more movements are perceived by the webcam, the more intense is the animation of the light trail. It evolves as well as the interactions that soon will lead us to be different forms from those we are today.
